Galician Official Association of Chemists celebrated the Day of Chemistry 2016 awarding the most important prize for the chemical industry in Galicia. Award for Corporate Chemical Excellence 2016 was for Gairesa, recognizing the wide innovation success made by our company during almost 40 years of history. Gairesa wants to thank Galician Official Association of Chemists and also other organizations and researchers who collaborated with us in many projects over this time. This award would not be possible without their cooperation.
The award ceremony took place on November 12th and many colleagues were present. Juan Mogín, vice dean of Galician Association of Chemists, mentioned the deserved recognition to Gairesa with this Award for Corporate Chemical Excellence 2016 “because it’s a company thinking in the chemistry and collaborating with chemists”. Most of the technical members of the company are Chemistry Graduates. He also said that this award wants to recognize “the efforts and work made since over 35 years collaborating in the development of Galicia”. The vice dean pointed out that Gairesa “always gives career opportunities to chemists trained in our region and the company will go on relying on Galician chemists for their projects”.
Senén Paz Abuín, director of the company, thanked the award given by the Association of Chemists: “Me and all our team are proud of this prize, we did not expected it. It’s an unexpected award and this tell us that we are doing good things and that we are in the right way”. As Dr. Paz Abuín said, 40% of the company staff works in the R&D Department. “We must lead our industrial sector and that requires a strong and constant investment in research and development.”
